What is toughening?
All procedures, which help a body to fight negative environmental factors (draught, chill, wet feet etc.), are called toughening. Sauna is one of toughening procedures. If you’re a beginner, start with lower temperatures and shorter time, because your body has not adapted to a high heat yet. A beginners formula for sauna: spend 4-5 minutes in sauna, then same length of time to cool down under a shower (10-15 seconds of a cool shower, then a break for 15-20 seconds, then again 10-15 seconds of a cool shower etc., so that the total time of procedure would be 4-5 minutes). An important principle must be observed – every person regulates a cooling level individually according their own feelings, so that they’d feel comfortably.
